A new level in Querio — purple gorillas

Level three brings a hot day and a new enemy: purple gorillas. Each one is taller than the hero, so you can’t jump over it from the ground.

What’s new. The Querio mini-game has a third level. The sky is yellow, the hills are orange, and there’s a new enemy on the path: the purple gorilla. It’s taller than the hero and twice as wide, so it can’t be jumped over from the ground.

How to defeat a gorilla. Jump on it from above twice. After the first jump the gorilla is stunned: its eyes turn into X’s and little stars circle its head. A stunned gorilla stands still and can’t hurt you — jump again or walk past. After the second jump the gorilla is defeated. Each jump adds 2 to the score, and defeating it adds 5 more.

If you jump only once. The gorilla soon wakes up angry — red eyes, bared teeth — and walks faster. Touching a gorilla from the side costs a life, just like a blob.

How to unlock. Level three opens once the player finishes level two. The game remembers unlocked levels, each family member has their own, and before a round you can pick any unlocked level.

How to get Querio. Your child buys it with stars in the land shop, under “Furniture”. A round costs one token, and tokens come from the chores done that day.
